Title: Data Modeler (Data Science, Statistical Research)
Duration: 6 Months contract-to-hire
Location: Austin, TX or Des Moines, IA

NOTE: Only W2, no C2C or 1099

Reporting to the Director of BI/BA and Data Science, the Data Modeler will be a hands-on leader who leverages our clients' datasets to provide descriptive analytics and predictive analytics including response models, churn analysis, forecasting using the ARIMA method, lifetime customer value, and more.
With a demonstrated ability to balance business, technical and people skills, the role will be best suited for an individual with the ability to multi-task across complex projects and diverse solution teams.

- Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients' proprietary information.
- Originates and executes statistical research projects of very complex scope on behalf of CDS Global or CDS Global Clients
- Conducts complex statistical modeling and data mining techniques: Exploratory Data Analytics, GLM, clustering, decision trees, etc.
- Researches new ways of using statistical methodologies. Develops new approaches to solving business problems using advanced statistical techniques; brings new ideas on statistical techniques and their application to the business
- Investigates and assists in data analysis. Interprets data and identifies correlations using both multivariate analyses and machine learning. Offers recommendations to improve analyses; assists in documenting and summarizing results.
- Leverages and develops effective, clear data visualization methods to represent complex data.

Performs extensive diagnostic checks of assumptions supporting statistical inferences.
- Writes reports summarizing findings for a broad-based audience.
- Provides statistical assistance, support and guidance to managers, business analysts, and other staff. Works and leads technical and non-technical team members.
- Leverages complex data and statistical analysis in order to discover and provide clients with actionable business insights and opportunities.
- Interacts and consult with clients in order to drive product strategy, leverage best practices in the use of traditional and digital data, work with a variety of statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Using various resources learns and applies knowledge of current statistical software, databases, and data visualizations techniques.
- Performs management and supervisor functions for employee(s) who perform statistical analysis responsibilities.
- Provides training and guidance to employee(s).Oversees and manages third-party statistical contractors.

- Masters Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related program of study. Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.
- Five or more years of successful progressively complex working experience to obtain comprehensive knowledge of statistical theory.
- Ability to independently develop new methodology to meet unique requirements, such as statistical models in new areas of application and derivation of inference techniques. Usage of statistical methods with appropriate tests of assumptions, numerical accuracy and correct interpretation of results.
- Experience with MicroStrategy or Tableau for reporting and visualization development preferred.
- Advanced knowledge to read complex statistical and mathematical literature, understand appropriate study design, formulate appropriate statistical hypotheses, and propose appropriate statistical methods.
- Comprehensive knowledge and skills to use data visualization methods to represent complex data.
- Programming knowledge and skills in R, Python, SAS, or SPSS (R and Python preferred).
- Scripting language knowledge and skills in SQL, Python and/or Perl.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Experience with data and analytics related to the publishing, payments or not-for-profit space preferred.
- Successful experience prioritizing and completing long and short-term projects.
