Type: Contract – 8 months

The Network Administrator provides general network & server administration support to the business through monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining systems. Duties are defined as 75% Network and 25% Server Administration assignments. Candidate will respond to internal customer issues through the use of HelpDesk ticketing system.

- Provide network & server project support as an IT team-member
- Engage stakeholders and determine software/hardware requirements
- Oversee or perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Establish network access control criteria
- Develop and monitor computing policies and standards
- Perform applications & network analysis, modification, and implementation
- Tune system performance, installs system software, and allocates mass storage space
- Make hardware/software purchase recommendations
- Evaluate vendor products, oversees vendor support and coordinates installation
- Revise existing systems and procedures and documents systems parameters and formats
- Provide technical expertise for enhancement of and change to system security configuration
- Evaluate existing Windows server technologies and services, and makes recommendations to meet IT strategic plan
- Understand a high-availability, high-performance environment and performs work to those standards
- Work with consulting resources and project managers to achieve project implementations on time and on budget; commits to and meets project milestones and costs
- Be accountable for the implementation of technology/services architectures and standards
- Be accountable for following detailed designs based on the committed architecture and standards
- Participate in the implementation of solutions delivery, including planning, design, build, testing, ordering and transition to production support
- Participate in the development of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
- Work with and participate in a team environment
- Willingness to work occasional off hours shifts and less than or equal to 10% travel to remote branch offices for maintenance and global IT operational support
- Communicate and work with vendors on circuit provisioning and troubleshooting

- Job Duties: (75% Network Requirement)
- Must possess intermediate to moderate level administrative skills on Switches, Routers & Firewalls
- Ability to troubleshoot: LAN/WAN/MPLS, Internet, T-1, Fiber, Ethernet, Circuits, PoE, VOIP, L2 VLANs, L3 Routing, SIP, VPN, Wireless systems 802.11(n,a,b,g,ac) bands
- Ability to use LAN/WAN troubleshooting & reporting systems to diagnose circuit outages
- Capability to implement Network traffic reporting tools (NetFlow, SNMP, PRTG) to and conduct traffic analysis
- Familiarity with Microsoft Domain knowledge to troubleshoot &administer DNS/DHCP, TACACS+
- Basic knowledge of Generator, HVAC, power monitoring and alerting systems
- Ability to provide support for installations: Racks, Servers,Cabling, Data Centers
- Ability to perform patch and firmware maintenance to address compliance and security audits
- Must be able to lift and install IT equipment
- Experience with system patching technologies and vulnerability remediation methods.
- Senior level experience implementing solutions for Microsoft Windows 2008/2010 Servers operating systems, VMware virtualization technology.
- Ability to commute to branch offices to conduct network troubleshooting/repair

Job Duties: (25% Server Requirement)
- Experience participating in Windows server based initiatives for complex organizations.
- Considerable experience implementing, and supporting Windows servers and server operating systems(2008/2010)
- Extensive experience with server hardware
- Experience with group policy, especially security policies
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and MS Exchange 2010
- Experience implementing and supporting SAN and backup solutions
- Must possess advanced troubleshooting skills
- Network security configuration exposure a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft System Center and or working knowledge of SCCM to manage the deployment and security of devices and applications across an enterprise

Preferred Skills & Abilities:
- Three to five years of production network & server administration experience, or equivalent combination of training, certification, education and experience
- Experience must include network monitoring systems, network maintenance and updating or upgrading network equipment and server systems
- Ability to work well with people and be customer service orientated; obtain and maintain security clearance
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with limited supervision, manage conflicting priorities and make independent decisions
- Able to read and understand network diagrams, system specifications and technical manuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

- Technical bachelor's degree preferred and 3-5 years of demonstrated or equivalent work experience
- Cisco CCNA, Network+, MCSA/MCSE and or VMWare certifications are desired
- Must possess and maintain a current driver's license
